TJKM is a traffic engineering and transportation planning firm serving Northern California, Central California and Nevada. With offices in Pleasanton, Fresno, Sacramento, and Santa Rosa, TJKM offers a wide range of services with special expertise in traffic impact studies, signal design and timing, traffic operations, and long-range planning, including travel demand modeling.
TJKM serves both public and private clients on projects ranging from short consultations or reviews to very large, multi-discipline, on-call contracts.
Established in 1974, TJKM has been involved in more than 8,000 transportation projects throughout California, averaging 240 new projects each year. From long-range traffic planning to traffic impact studies to “need-it-now” signal design and timing, our knowledge of local nuances and know-how from over 8,000 projects will help complete your project on time and within budget. Ultimately, our goal is to help inspire your community and keep it moving safely.
TJKM History
TJKM was founded by Richard Tammen, Arnold Johnson, Chris Kinzel and Robert Mimiaga in 1974.
The office was located in Walnut Creek for the first 10 years. In the early 1980s, TJKM was drawn to the City of Pleasanton and played a substantial role in the planning and development of Hacienda Business Park where the company is now headquartered.
TJKM has additional California branch offices in Fresno, Sacramento and Santa Rosa.
Chris Kinzel and Gary Kruger are the owners of TJKM. Chris Kinzel is the President of of the company.
