Freeway Operations > Demand Forecasting Model for
I-580/Louise Interchange PSR
City of Lathrop

Exploding growth in the Central Valley necessitated the construction of an expanded interchange. TJKM performed traffic demand forecasting for the Louise/I-5 interchange PSR study to determine how the new interchange could best handle traffic. TJKM developed the City of Lathrop demand-forecasting model in TP+/Viper based on the SJCOG demand-forecasting model. TJKM performed demand forecasting for three alternatives for major intersections and the mainline volumes a.m. and p.m. after working with Caltrans to establish the modeling process. In addition, TJKM produced the sub-area demand tables for micro-simulation on the nearby freeway system.
TJKM has performed traffic operations analyses and prepared project study reports (PSRs) at dozens of interchanges in Northern and Central California.
