East Dublin
Located in the rolling hills to the north of I-580, rapidly growing East Dublin development projects encompass approximately 3,000 acres of land and include more than 15,000 thousand dwelling units, more than 10 million square feet of retail, office and industrial use, over 650 acres of parks and open space, and several schools. Upscale shops and restaurants, combined with attractive homes and many mobility options have defined East Dublin as an idyllic place to live, work and play.
As with any major new community, careful and meaningful planning is key to creating a thriving and desirable area. Working as an on-call consultant to the City of Dublin and directly with the majority of the developers active in the area, TJKM’s involvement since 1985 has proven instrumental for the planning and success of East Dublin.
TJKM provided key services including determining circulation patterns, developing plan lines, and designing traffic signals. TJKM routinely studies the effects and impacts of East Dublin developments prior to their construction. Often appearing before the Dublin City Council, a primary goal of our studies is to resolve negative issues in order to gain project approval.
For three busy I-580 interchanges, TJKM forecasted future traffic, conducted operational studies and then recommended appropriate lane configurations for the on and off-ramps. Today, access to and from the area is uncomplicated.
The Pleasanton-Dublin BART station serves as the transit gateway to both Dublin and the neighboring City of Pleasanton. Parking challenges occur at every station within the BART system. The goal is to maximize stall count for the limited space available. TJKM designed the parking lot layout and circulation patterns.
TJKM’s knowledge and familiarity with the transportation issues of East Dublin also extends to all of the Tri-Valley cities: Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon and Danville. We have been involved in more than 1,000 transportation projects in these five cities alone.
Other new communities where TJKM has provided significant transportation planning include Mountain House, Tracy Hills, River Islands in Lathrop and West Patterson.
