Hacienda Business Park Pleasanton
Hacienda Business Park began as a large vacant parcel but now includes some eight million square feet of office, light manufacturing and R&D uses. It is a highly ranked, highly recognized Business Park which also includes several hundred single–family and multiple–family residential units along with a commercial component including several hundred thousand square feet of retail uses plus several hotels. Hacienda is home to many retail establishments including four shopping centers and over 75 individual retail businesses and restaurants.
TJKM completed all of the initial traffic engineering, transportation planning and design services for the Park.
A major successful component of the park is its internal transportation system. TJKM designed pedestrian circulation features and developed a system of bus shelters and bus turnouts for a future (now operating) bus system, key components of Hacienda’s successful internal transportation system. TJKM developed the locations and sizes of all streets, determined the geometric requirements of all intersections and designed a unique and attractive traffic signal system within the park that includes over 30 interconnected intersections. TJKM developed the details for two new interchanges and major upgrades of two others along the I-580 and I-680, the two arteries serving Hacienda. TJKM provided design services for the East Dublin/Pleasanton BART station parking lot and provided circulation recommendations for the station that began operation in 1997.
TJKM produced the traffic and circulations studies for an extensive environmental review process and provided testimony at public meetings during the approval process. TJKM subsequently provided traffic impact analysis for new or modified developments within the Park.
Residents and employees of the area have received the Park very well. Today, the Park is a prized community asset. TJKM has provided services for nearly every transportation-related aspect of the development of the Park. Additionally, TJKM’s company headquarters has resided in the Park since 1984.
