Mountain House

Mountain House

Mountain House is a new community planned to bring residential, recreational, institutional and retail developments together in the form of a self-sufficient community.  It is a 4,800-acre development with its own schools, parks and public facilities.  Ultimately, Mountain House will consist of 12 distinct neighborhoods housing 44,000 residents, with offices, retail shops and boutiques within walking distance of homes.  It will take about 20 years to complete the build-out of the community.  In part, the success of Mountain House depends upon the phased implementation of transportation measures developed by TJKM.

TJKM was retained by the Mountain House Community Services District for all of the significant transportation planning and engineering efforts, from the layout of the streets and roads to the design of dozens of intersections.  TJKM is Mountain House’s on-call consultant and also to the primary developer, Shea Homes.  TJKM performed much of the original work for Trimark, the original developer of Mountain House and also delivered the first study in Mountain House in the early 1990s.  TJKM has now completed dozens of traffic studies within the area, including the traffic analysis of the I-580 interchange with Mountain House Parkway, currently under construction and scheduled for completion in 2006.  The Mountain House Parkway/I-580 interchange is the primary access to and from Mountain House.  TJKM will continue to be a part of the development of Mountain House, providing expert traffic solutions for the continued growth and success of the area.
