The City of Tracy has doubled the size of its population in the past ten years. New housing developments have pushed the residential areas of Tracy to the east, west, north and south. Major development projects in planning and already in construction near the West Valley Mall significantly affect the traffic throughout the entire City. To accommodate the increase of traffic brought on by the numerous development projects, TJKM has provided developers and the City with design plans for over a dozen new or modified traffic signals. The plans include signing and striping details, traffic signal construction plans and timing recommendations.
The City is currently building a new, larger Civic Center. TJKM prepared the traffic signal design plans for the new Center and also provided recommendations for traffic control within the area. In addition to the design work TJKM has already performed, the City has kept TJKM under contract to provide on-call traffic engineering services.
