With traffic engineering experience spanning over two decades, Stephen is Chief of TJKM’s design department and oversees a team with over 600 signal designs to its credit. Stephen graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and is a registered Civil Engineer. Before joining TJKM in 2004, he worked as an engineer for the City of San Jose, and the Counties of Santa Clara and San Joaquin. Having served on the municipal “side of the desk” and now working in the private sector, Stephen brings a well-rounded approach to design and engineering projects alike.
While Stephen primarily coordinates TJKM’s design projects, which includes traffic control plans and roadway geometrics, he also has a comprehensive knowledge of other traffic and transportation engineering disciplines. He has extensive experience with transit facility planning and rail/transit projects, traffic impact studies, traffic operations analyses, and traffic investigations. He has also developed traffic calming strategies for neighborhoods and busy arterials enhancing safety in the communities TJKM serves. Please contact Stephen at sau@tjkm.com.
